Parked in the 90s, this 230 SL hasn't been touched in over 20 years! As with most stored cars, certain all systems had to be inspected for wear and damage. Once we completed our evaluation, we began working on the car. First up, the fuel system was completely refurbished from the front to back, folowed by replacing all fluids, belts and hoses too. The SL received a complete brake job, tune up, and the battery was replaced as well. Once the mechanicals were up to snuff, we performed a complete exterior restoration, including re-chroming all the trim and bumpers. Thanks to proper storage, the interior was still in pristine condition. Seats were stuffed as needed and trim pieces were cleaned up and reinstalled. The original radio and heater controls work properly, as well as the gauges, which reflect the original kilometers. The car has a brand new soft top and matching hard top, and an original rear jump seat.
The 2.3 liter straight six starts right up, idles smoothly and runs well. It is mated to a 4 speed transmission that shifts smoothly, thanks to a rebuilt shifter. The 230 SL features power front disc brakes, independent suspension, and brand new tires for a firm but comfortable ride.
