Bentley made a long awaited return to racing at Le Mans in 2001 following a yawning seventy one year sabbatical. To celebrate this achievement and Bentleys return to competitive racing, a special edition Le Mans version of the Arnage and Continental R were produced in limited numbers, with less than 50 Continental R examples commissioned during 2001 and 2002.
The Exterior is finished in British Racing Green and is in excellent condition. It is apparent that this car was garaged and meticulously-maintained. It features wide wheel arches, body colored sport bumpers, exclusive quad exhaust pipes, ducting vents in the front spoiler, "Le Mans Series" badges on the front quarter panels and 5-spoke sport wheels with red performance brake calipers behind them.
The interior is in beautiful condition and is equipped with all the right options. It features unique instruments with a dark Racing Green background color, "Le Mans Series" lettering on the speedometer and rev counter, Dark finished Straight Grain Walnut with the Bentley wings etched in intricate detail and inlaid into the waist rails of the doors as well as into the dashboard, Winged B motifs embroidered into the headrests of the two-tone, perforated hide upholstery, Exclusive chrome and leather design of the gear lever, Drilled pedals and Unique treadplate plaques. Also included are a set of Green Lambs Wool Rugs.
The two-door LeMans Turbo Coupe is a massive British Hot Rod powered by a 6.8-liter turbocharged eight-cylinder engine capable of producing 400 horsepower and nearly 620 foot-pounds of torque backed by a 4 Speed Automatic Transmission. It comes complete with its books and tools.
The late production Continental R models are some of our favorite modern Bentley motor cars and this particular car should be seen in person to be truly appreciated as its condition and pedigree are correctly described as outstanding. It has gone thru an extensive TLD serice and detail and is now ready for its next owner!
