Launched in 2006, Audis R8 arrived as a true mid-engine supercar with permanent all-wheel drive, V-10 power, exotic yet functional styling and luxurious, driver-centric interior. Design, development, and manufacture of the R8 was, and remains, wholly under the control Audi AG subsidiary Audi Sport GmbH, formerly named Quattro GmbH in homage to Audis all-conquering Quattros of World Rally Championship fame. Initially, the R8 was based largely upon Lamborghinis Gallardo, and from 2015, the Huracn. Constant development brought an even more formidable R8 for 2017, based on Audis Modular Sportscar System (MSS) vehicle platform blending aluminum and carbon fiber yielding a rigid structure weighing over 100 pounds less than before with 40 per cent greater stiffness for even better handling. Powered by a 5.2-liter V-10 packing 540 horsepower, the 2017 R8 also features improved fuel economy with weight reductions and cylinder deactivation. Power delivery is via a rear transaxle and Audi S Tronic dual-clutch gearbox standard. A new grille design, brilliant LED headlamps, Nappa leather seats, and Bang & Olufsen audio system take the R8 to an entirely new level.
Finished in Daytona Grey Pearl paint over Black leather upholstery, this 2017 Audi R8 Coupe retains the original paint and interior and comes to market with just 7,222 actual miles of use under two owners with the second having purchased the car in May 2018 at 1,400 miles.
