Sharing its basic design with Chevrolets Caprice Estate and Oldsmobiles Custom Cruiser, the 1991-96 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon marked the end of an era as the last full-size, body-on-frame station wagons ever to be offered from General Motors. Design was led by Wayne Kady and dates to 1989, with production exclusively performed at GMs Arlington, Texas assembly plant on the outskirts of Dallas. While GMs Chevrolet-derived 5.7-liter (350 CI) V-8 engine was utilized throughout production, 1994-96 models benefited from the additional power gained from a 260 HP development of the LT1 fuel-injected high-performance engine utilizing durable iron cylinder heads, a high-torque camshaft profile and intake silencers. From 1994-96, the electronically-controlled 4L60E automatic transmission was used on these full-size family haulers. Renowned for their standard simulated woodgrain bodyside trim, roominess and generous passenger/cargo capacity, choice examples of these modern icons enjoy high demand today.
Attractively finished in White with Woodgrain accents over Tan upholstery, this final-year 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon is a wonderfully well maintained and presented Collectors Edition model. Offered for sale complete with a clean Carfax vehicle-history report, it is a documented two-owner vehicle with single-owner care since 1999 when it was purchased at 49,128 miles of use. Highly sought-after original options include the V92 Heavy-Duty Cooling and Suspension Package and 3
rd-row seating. At the time of writing, the Roadmaster has accumulated 80,239 miles in total with an average of only an approximate 1,500 miles annually under the current owner. Powered by the most desirable LT1-derived 260 HP 350 CI V-8 engine in concert with a GM 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission, this Roadmaster Estate Wagon is highly equipped with power features and amenities, plus Climate Control A/C and an added Alpine touchscreen CD stereo unit fitted to the Roadmasters dash with a clean, almost factory-original appearance. In 2015, The Last Detail performed work to preserve this wagons excellent presentation. If you are looking for a high-specification, full-size station wagon with great appearance, limited ownership and plenty of room to enjoy with family and friends, this 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon Collectors Edition is an excellent modern classic choice!
