If you ordered an Eldorado convertible in the early 80s it was converted by one of two custom coach builders for GM. With ASC already working on other special projects for GM at the time they got the contract, but quality complaints and a time crunch led to outsourcing to another company. The Hess & Eisenhardt convertibles make up about 1/3 of the overall production, making them the more collectable car by far! Our all original example is finished medium gray metallic, and is contrasted by a black top & leather interior. In & out, this well preserved Caddy is in beautiful condition as the pictures show. The exterior chrome and trim are near new while the paint is polished to a deep finish. Inside the car is an absolute time capsule with all the leather, door panels, dash and woodwork looking new. Features include cruise control, power top and windows, Delco Symphony stereo with cassette, power seat and an automatic trunk latch.
 
The Eldorado features a 4.1 liter V8 that is backed by a 4 speed automatic transmission that utilized front wheel drive. Stored in a climate controlled facility for the past 20 some years, this Eldorado was still in great shape but needed servicing. Work just completed includes; replace brake system including the master cylinder, flush and replace all fluids, replace filters, convert A/C system, service fuel system, new rear exhaust and new tires.
