Shelby American received a production order from Portland Motor Sales on Halloween in 1966 which would end up being the 4th GT350 built for 67!! The car was used for promotional purposes for both Shelby and its dealers in the region prior to delivery. Delivered in Dark Moss Green with both Lemans and rocker stripes, this Shelby also wore Kelsey Hayes Mag-Star wheels. Being that this car was built so early, the car featured a one piece grille with center mounted driving lights, a hood prop rod instead of springs, and side marker lights in the rear sail panels which were later abandoned. It is believed that only the first 200 cars received these items making this a very rare example!! Refinished in its original livery, this Shelby is in beautiful condition throughout. Panel gaps are good across the car including the fiberglass hood and deck lid too. Inward, the car has a black interior that features the standard roll bar, original Stewart Warner gauges and gauge pod, correct AM radio, original wood steering wheel, original seat belts, folding rear seat, and matching original Mag-Star spare.
Under the hood is where the Shelby prepared 289 that is backed by a 4 speed manual transmission and Ford 9 rear end. The engine is topped off with a Paxton supercharger is rated at 390 horsepower but was known to be well underrated. This car is verified by the Marti Report to be 1 of 53 cars built in this color combination, and it will make a great addition to any collection.
