Rare Factory Built Sport Coupe with the 427 V8 option
This exceptional 1967 Impala SS Sport Coupe was factory ordered with the optional TurboJet 427cui/385hp V8 upgrade and rarer than the Z24 (SS427) optioned version! A concours level exterior only refinish on its immaculate Factory Sheet Metal was performed to freshen up in its original Nantucket Blue. All of its exterior chrome and stainless trim are in excellent condition. “Impala SS” and “427” badges indicate that this rare coupe means business. The beautiful Medium Blue Interior has a metallic look and compliments the exterior magnificently. The Original Strato Bucket Seat Interior is in exceptional condition and features Factory Options such as a full center console with chrome inserts and lockable storage, a wood grain steering wheel and AM/FM Radio. The SS gauge panel is in like new condition and features factory Fuel, Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Battery Charge Indicator, and a full sized Tachometer. Every gauge functions as new, right down to the full size Clock!
The real excitement rests under the hood. The monster 427cui V8 is fed thru a 4bbl carb and is rated at 385hp! Its Numbers Matching status is verified by all stampings and casting numbers! It is backed by GM’s strongest driveline, a numbers matching Turbo 400 Transmission and 12 bolt Posi Differential. Rally Wheels with chrome trim rings and centers wrapped in BFG Radial T/A tires put all of that power to the ground. Copies of Original Protect-O-Plate, Owners Manual and Build Sheet.
The Impala was GM’s most successful full-sized model geared toward the growing family. Chevrolet's signature for any performance model was the SS badge. The SS with a 427 V8 was the king of the hill! Slide into one of the firm and comfortable bucket seats, draw the color matched seat belt firmly across your waist, give the carb a couple of pumps and twist the key! The Big 427 roars to life! Touted in period literature as having a "performance-rated" four-barrel carburetor and "high-performance camshaft", the 385 horses rumble thru the dual exhaust system. This car drives out like new! Handling for a big car like this is excellent and hydraulic brakes bring all of that muscle to a halt with the power steering assisting in the parking duties.
