CAPTIVATING STYLING, LUXURY & PRESENCE
No other car captures the essence of the 1950s "Jet Age" styling theme quite like the 1959 Cadillac model lines, featuring many design elements that could have been copied from Cold War-era aircraft and rockets. However, some of these futuristic design cues including bold tail fins actually date back to GM's 3/8-scale Interceptor design studies of the early 1940s led by Harley Earl's assistant, Julio Andrade, featuring cues from the U.S. Army Air Corps' then-secret Lockheed P-38 "Lightning" fighter. In addition to their incomparable styling that would soon assume iconic status, all 1959 Cadillac models featured impeccable build quality in keeping with their premium market stature.
Power was delivered by Cadillac's proprietary V-8 engine, now displacing 390 CI and developing 325 horsepower in basic tune with standard 4-barrel carburetion and dual exhaust. Except for the Series 75 limousine, the 1959 Cadillacs measuring nearly 19 feet overall and rode a commanding 130-inch wheelbase. Priced from $5,080, the "6-Window" Series 62 4-door Sedan was a key model in the Cadillac product line and quite popular among Cadillac's upscale buyers for '59.
An original California car and located in the Golden State until 2020, this 1959 Cadillac Series 62 6-Window Sedan is an incredibly original, collector-grade example with one repaint in the factory-original Code 26 Dunstan Blue over the laser-straight body. The Trim Code 32 Blue/Black Carlisle Metallic Cloth and Blue Metallic coated fabric upholstery remains original and exudes glamour and luxury. Optional accessories include E-Z Eye tinted glass, a heater and air conditioner, and an electrically-adjustable 6-way power front seat. Just an approximate 57,000 miles are accumulated; however, the title is Mileage Exempt. The car's original California "Black" registration plates are included. Offered in excellent running and driving order and handsomely presented throughout, this 1959 Cadillac Series 62 6-Window sedan offers a virtual trip back in time with its outstanding originality and commanding presence.
