Our 1957 DeSoto Firesweep, 4-door sedan is finished in blue with a two-tone blue interior. In addition to the V-8, the car has a 2-speed push button transmission, power steering and gauges. A delightfully original car that hails initially from California. This beauty has not been restored! With the introduction of the Firesweep in 1957, it would become DeSotos final must-have offering. With the reliable 325 ci V-8 putting out 245 horsepower, and a great selection of available options, the `57 Firesweep sold in excellent numbers. The signature fins, stacked taillights, and heavily chromed eyebrows, added to the appeal and were signature styling cues from the era. The DeSoto brand name would be dissolved a few short years later. The `57 Firesweep we are offering is in beautiful, original condition with only 8,000 actual miles. Service stickers affixed to the door jamb (as they did in years gone by) confirm the car was delivered new in Palo Alto, California and spent its early life there. It was serviced on May 4, 1963 with the mileage noted as 5,795. Another sticker indicates a recorded mileage of just 7,060 on August 11, 1995. By any indication, it appears this example was not stored in the elements for any great length of time while not being driven. Its just too nice. Very nice Firesweep convertibles, when available, sell for over $150,000. Outstanding examples exceed $200,000. Yes, this is not a convertible, but its a gorgeous, original car having covered only 8,000 miles from new. A car can be restored many times over, but its only original once.
