Acquired by a longtime customer, this 356 had been restored a few years prior to purchase and was inspected upon its arrival at TLD. Once familiar with the car the decision to do a cosmetic restoration was made. Originally born in Champagne Yellow, this 356 now wears Auratium Green, borrowed from the '58 Speedsters. With less than 100 miles since being completed, the exterior is in like new condition including all trim and glass. Inward, a darker Green interior is very complementary to the exterior, and is also in like new condition. The plush leather seats keep you planted when maneuvering, and the Les Leston wood steering wheel helps you keep a grip on things. Although rarely used, a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio is a highlighted feature.
This 356 features the 1600cc engine with a few upgrades pushing the overall horsepower to 85. Most recently owned by a Porsche Club enthusiast, he wanted the car to perform well. The addition of a 12 volt electrical system, dual stage brake master cylinder, Petronix Electronic Ignition, Weber Carburetor conversion, and the Carrera 4-Cam Sport exhaust all make for a well-tuned machine. Dropping the top and getting on your way is a breeze is this Cabriolet. One simple turn of the key and the motor fires instantly.
